This More Enough Etc. post is a companion piece to a Coloring Page series I recently created. Affirming – using the power of I AM – this series seeks to be the antidote for a few unhelpful themes regarding being considered too much, not enough, nothing special and more.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this series was the book *Simply More by Cynthia Erivo. I consider it a little book that says a lot. The subtitle says quite a bit in and of itself: A Book for Anyone Who Has Been Told They’re Too Much. But what else have we been told? Or what else have we told ourselves? After reading her book, I had such a burst of creative energy! In fact, the more I read, the more creative I became. There are many gems contained within the covers of this book, but if I had to share one it would the following. According to Erivo we are called…

To be the fullest version of ourselves, even when doing so is hard. So even when people try to shout us down. Even when we’re ridiculed for being who we are. We’re called to keep expanding and growing and evolving. To be more, simply more, of who we really are.  And then, to shed our light on the path of those behind us who are struggling to do the same.

*Simply More — Cynthia Erivo

Never Too Much

Along our respective journeys, some of us have heard variations of what Cynthia’s subtitle states. Whether it was “You’re a bit much at times.” “You laugh too loud.” “You ask too many questions.” Typically, when we hear comments like this, we swallow them whole. We take them to heart. During my burst of creativity, I found myself designing coloring pages to counter and offset these unhealthy comments. This specific series – like this post – is entitled *More, Enough, Etc. and it’s available on Etsy as a Digital Download. Be sure to click the link and take a look at the entire series. You’ll see *I AM MERELY MORE! and other affirmations that will provide alternative healthy and encouraging themes.

Enough?

On a somewhat related note, have you ever wondered if you were enough? It doesn’t matter if it was a personal or a professional situation. Coloring one of the multiple variations of the *I AM ENOUGH! pages in this series, may help you answer that question with a resounding YES!

Never Nothing Special

Hopefully you have never heard either of these: “There’s nothing special about you!” Or “You are nothing!” BTW…These are absolutely horrible things to say to anyone! Color the *I AM ESPECIALLY SPECIAL! or the *I AM EVERYTHING” pages respectively as your antidote.

Why It Matters

It’s important that we take steps to protect and nurture our mental health. Ideally, we’ll always know we’re never too much. That we are enough, special and everything. But if we ever need reminding, we can use the power of this *More, Enough, Etc. coloring page series to help us creatively retreat and remember. Stay tuned! Definitely more to come. 😉
