Pancake Café Naperville

My favorite breakfast place is Pancake Café located at 1292 Rickert Dr #168 in Naperville, IL. While Frank & Shari are the owners/operators, and there are several dedicated staff members, this café is truly a family affair spanning multiple generations. Perhaps that is why regular customers end up feeling like extended family.

Greetings

From the time you walk in you are greeted by either Ann (Frank’s Mom), Merle (Shari’s Mom), or Shari as if you were old friends stopping by for a visit. They remember your favorite server, and/or seating preference. Ann’s Mom (93 years young) helps make toast in the kitchen. Frank & Shari’s children are also involved. Katlyn and Frankie work as Servers, while Brooke cooks in the kitchen with Frank. Mary Kay (Frank’s sister) is the cashier and sometimes will ask me as I am leaving if I will be doing my usual post-Pancake Café ritual (Traviata).

“The Bacon Place”

All the servers are wonderful, but I have to say Katlyn/Katie is my favorite server. No matter how long I have been away, she always remembers my favorite breakfast including all my various preferences: Thick-Sliced Bacon and Eggs! Yep! I am there for the bacon. In fact, Ann once shared with me that a little boy who comes there with his parents calls the café  The Bacon Place. I love it!

Oven Specialties

Despite my favorites and other delicious menu items, Pancake Café is also known for their Oven Specialties like this Baked Apple Pancake:

As with most of my favorite places, I don’t just return to the Pancake Café regularly for the good food and great service. There is something extra there. I often lump it under great customer service, but it’s more than that. I’ll call it a “Feel Good Fix”. There are some places I go and I consistently feel better once I leave due to the “treatment” I received. I have also observed that this treatment is extended to everyone.
