I discovered Qigong (pronounced chee-kung) a few years ago. Rooted in Chinese Medicine, Qigong is an easy and effective way to keep the energy (or Qi, chi) balanced in the body. Everyone is different, but for me practicing Qigong is one way I can help myself to alleviate and/or prevent various aches, pains and ailments. With some exploration, I found a DVD entitled Qigong for Cleansing that was excellent for my needs. I originally borrowed it from my local library, but eventually purchased it and added it to my personal collection. This same Qigong program was previously available as Qigong for Detox so you may find it by that name.

An excerpt from the back cover indicates that the DVD includes: A 13 move system designed to get Qi (energy) moving and assist in removing blockages in your energy meridians.  In the first portion of the program, each movement is demonstrated and discussed (~ 26 minutes). Afterwards, Francesco and Daisy combine all 13 movements into one fluid workout (~ 9 minutes). Once you are comfortable with the movements, the intention is that the 9 minute fluid workout be performed on a regular basis. Unless you’d like a refresher, there is no need to repeat the instruction portion.

NOTE: Due to availability issues, I have removed the affiliate links for the DVD mentioned in this post. I still highly recommend checking it out. You can get it from the library, or search for it by title on your favorite online site.

I must confess that I don’t practice this Qigong DVD on a regular basis, so I always need to do the instruction portion to refresh my memory. However the discussion/narration reinforces the benefits of each movement so I find it worth the time. During the instruction portion, each movement is labeled with the purpose, or meridian/area of the body impacted.
