Wow! It’s December already! How did that happen. Yes I disappeared again, but today I actually fixed some links on past posts that were outdated. I have been a bit pre-occupied over the last many months. I am so grateful for the people and experiences in my life, and I was recently reminded that bad isn’t always bad. However it’s sometimes very tough to see that in the moment.
I am currently doing a water challenge with my family members through the end of the year. 64 oz of water each day. For myself, I do not include coffee or tea in that count – regardless of whether it’s herbal or decaf. I will allow myself to add fresh fruit (i.e. lemon, lime, etc.) with no added sugar and still count it.
I started the challenge because I struggle with drinking enough water daily. I hear all the time how the body needs water etc. Years ago I read (and bought) this amazing book called Your Body’s Many Cries for Water by F. Batmanghelidj. I loved the sub-title though: You’re Not Sick; You’re Thirsty. The sub-title is actually longer than that, but I think you get the point. As always, I borrowed it from the library first.
So far it’s going well. Some days when I am lagging behind, my daughter or my sister will send a group text indicating their progress so far, and that will inspire me to do better. Weekends are tougher for me, and yesterday was the first day since we started that I didn’t meet my 64 oz goal, but I made it a little over halfway. YAY for me! Feel free to join us if you like. If you do, please let me know in the Comments section!
WOW! That is so awesome. Hopefully we are forming a habit that we will stick to with that kind of dedication and commitment. Thank you again Ronnie!
Since October 2012…
So I think Ronnie posted this comment. Thanks for sharing! How long have you been doing this daily water routine/ritual?
This is an easy challenge because I do it daily… I use a half gallon jar and I don’t drink any other drinks until I finish the jar and refill it and put it in my fridge…at night I put it on my night stand with my 16.9 oz bottle of water so I have water at night and start on my jar in the morning!
