Ho’oponopono Meditation for the Throat Chakra complements my previous post on Ho’oponopono. I stumbled on this meditation and realized after listening to it how beneficial it could be for me. Before I continue, I want to emphasize that I am only sharing something that I tried for myself – which may not be appropriate for your situation. The Not Professional Advice section of my Disclaimer page says it best so please do check that out.

Meditation

Let me take a step back for a moment. No one is more surprised than me that I now meditate almost every day. Sitting still was a challenge for me and typically I lean towards moving meditations. Even if that were still the case, since Ho’oponopono is familiar to me, it makes this meditation much easier for me.

Throat Chakra

When I first read the title of the meditation I thought while it may prove interesting, I certainly did not need it. I’m pretty vocal about many things. However I realized that there are often things that I do withhold, as well as things I cannot say for a variety of reasons. Could that be building up and causing problems? More importantly, how do you say what you need to say to someone you can’t say it to?

Using Coloring Pages

After pre-listening to a portion of the meditation I decided to incorporate the *Ho’oponopono Coloring Pages I mentioned in my previous post on this topic into my process. I printed a page from the set, and I wrote the name of the meditation on the back. I decided to use an Aqua Blue coloring pencil to color just the words. This is one of the shades of blue that corresponds with the throat chakra.

My Meditation Process

While listening to the Ho’oponopono Meditation for the Throat Chakra, I colored the words on my coloring page, and I sometimes repeated the mantra and other parts of the meditation aloud. In effect, I created an interactive meditation of sorts. It worked out very well. Afterwards I journaled on what I will call various “awarenesses”.

Withholding Praise

One awareness that occurred to me later was that withholding praise from someone who deserves it is another behavior that could block the throat chakra – in my humble opinion. Regardless of who they are, whether it be personal or professional, it’s very important to give people their due. I recently rectified this in a professional scenario and was amazed on how it greatly improved communication all around!

Question Answered

After doing the meditation, over time I got multiple answers to my earlier question: How do you say what you need to say to someone you can’t say it to? Regardless of the reason. Here of a few ways and it certainly isn’t an exhaustive list:

-Note/Letter: I could write a note or letter as if talking to the person. I could write out everything I wanted to express, including all the questions I always wanted to ask. Then I could shred it. I did this and it was very cathartic.

-Journaling: I journal so frequently that I actually forgot this as an option

-Poetry: Often I write poetry based on a multitude of emotions – positive and negative. I can sometimes generalize it enough to make it available for others to read. However sometimes the poem becomes part of my private collection – what I like to call “For My Eyes Only”! 😀

Conclusion

I’d like to share the following quote from Britney Spears’ book *The Woman in Me since I find it very fitting for this topic:

There have been so many times when I was scared to speak up because I was afraid somebody would think I was crazy. But I have learned that lesson now, the hard way. You have to speak the thing you’re feeling even if it scares you. You have to tell your story. You have to raise your voice.

Very well put! As I said, this Ho’oponopono Meditation for the Throat Chakra is something I did for myself on my own. That may not be doable for everyone. Definitely partner with an appropriate professional as needed. Otherwise, consider giving this a try.
