What is a Reiki Session?

NOTE: This post is related to the main All About Reiki post.

>There are various types of Reiki sessions: Full, Chair/Quick, Distance/Absentee
>During a session, the Reiki practitioner acts as a conduit, receiving Reiki energy from the Universe, and sending the energy into the client using their hands
>The client remains fully clothed and lies on a massage table, or sits in a chair with shoes off
>Reiki can be performed hands–on or hands-off based on the client’s preference
>Multiple hand positions that focus on the 7 major chakras (energy centers), joints, and any additional areas as directed by the client or intuition
>The client may feel different sensations: heat, cold, tingling, pulsing or nothing
>Almost always regardless of the sensations (or lack thereof) the client feels relaxed

After a Reiki Session

>Drink plenty of water for the rest of the day
>Take it easy! Set aside time free from errands, tasks, social outings, etc.
>Ideally avoid alcohol or tobacco for the next 24 hours
>Eat healthy foods for the remainder of the day
>Avoid sugary beverages or snacks
>Journal any thoughts and feelings that surface over the next few days
