What is a Reiki Practitioner?
NOTE: This post is related to the main All About Reiki post.
A Reiki Practitioner is an individual who has been attuned to the Reiki energy and symbols by a Reiki Master Teacher. Be aware that this individual may be trained or gifted in other areas and may combine this with their Reiki sessions. The practitioner may be attuned at one of various levels: Level I/First Degree; Level II/Second Degree; Level III/Reiki Master; Level IV/Reiki Master Teacher.
A Reiki Practitioner Is Not:
>Reiki Practitioners are not medical doctors (although a medical doctor could also be trained as a Reiki Practitioner)
>Reiki Practitioners do not diagnose, cure or prescribe treatments
>Reiki Practitioners are not healers – the energy helps the body heal itself
Reiki Practitioner Prerequisites
>No specific background or prerequisite is required to attend a Level I Reiki class
>Some Reiki Master Teachers have minimum age requirements for the various Reiki Practitioner levels
>Successful completion of the previous Reiki level class is required to advance to the next level
>People of all backgrounds, cultures, and religions have studied various levels of Reiki
>Recommended that you experience 1-2 Reiki sessions beforehand
>Recommended that you seek a class that offers/includes extended studies
