The Kickboxing Rebounder workout outlined in this blog post combines two of my favorite activities: Kickboxing (or Mixed Martial Arts) and Rebounding. Basically by doing it, I get a twofer, so for me it’s a no-brainer choice as a great way to ramp up my workout routine.

After I completed my 30 Day Mini tramp Challenge a while back, I discovered this awesome free Body Combat Rebounding Workout on YouTube. At first glance, I was a little hesitant. I wasn’t sure I could maintain my endurance while doing kickboxing and rebounding at the same time. Trust me, I have found numerous similar workouts where I could NOT! However, I was pleasantly surprised by this one! ๐
Kickboxing
Before I dive in, let’s talk about kickboxing (KB) in general. I love doing KB as a fun way to get a total body workout. As is often the case, I started at home with DVDs. Over time, I acquired a collection of my favorite KB workouts. Years ago I started with a *Punch! workout kit from a popular weight loss program. The kit is great because it contains 3 workouts on a DVD at different levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. It also includes weighted gloves. However if the kit isn’t appealing, you can always snag these *Nayoya Weighted Gloves separately. Later, this *Fat-Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies became one of my favorites, followed closely by this *10 Minute Kickbox Bootcamp video. I’ll list more in the Resource Summary section.
Kickboxing Rebounder Workout Overview
Back to the Kickboxing Rebounder Workout topic! The pace and progression of this Body Combat Rebounding Workout made it very easy to follow along, and it’s definitely not boring. I especially like that there’s a decent warmup that previews some of the movements in the workout. Afterwards, there are 3 Blocks with a small break between each section.
Kickboxing Rebounder Workout – My Approach
In my first session, I started by getting through the Warmup, and as much of Block 1 as I could. As I got more comfortable, I was able to make it to the end of Block 1. Over time, I gradually built up my stamina and I could make it through part, and subsequently all of Block 2. Block 3 contains the kicks and I must confess it took me a long time to try it. I love kicks, but I was worried about balance. Turns out there is hardly any jumping in Block 3. Nevertheless doing kicks on a rebounder (even without jumping) is still a balance challenge. Whenever I am in doubt, I leave it out. As always, safety first! When I am tight on time, I do however much I have time for and stop. Greater than zero effort. ๐
